The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has asked illegal occupiers to clear footpaths and roads by the end of March, warning of strict legal action from Apr 1.
In a public notice signed by Acting DMP Commissioner Md Sarwar on Monday, the authorities warned that mobile courts will begin operations on Apr 1.
Those failing to comply will face jail time, fines, and the seizure of their goods and equipment, the notice sMotor workshops and auto-parts shops were also found occupying entire lanes for repairs, further restricting traffic movement.
The DMP urged business owners to remove all obstructions voluntarily in the public interestaid.
